Hyperlapse up the Camino Inca al Antisuyu in Cusco

Went out early this morning and shot this “hyperlapse” video of the beginning of the original Inca road leading from the Plaza de Armas in Cusco up into the mountains east of town.

The road passes through the old section of town called San Blas. You can see the last part of the road is literally the original road built hundreds of years ago before the Spanish came. I get a kick out of people who climb the famous Inca Trail so they can say they traveled on the Inca road when, in fact, there are many miles of original roads that still exist and take you to some wonderful places.

I climbed as fast as I could walk non-stop to get a good video to show what the road is like. (My Fitbit watch said I climbed the equivalent of 40 floors to get this one shot!) It took about 15 minutes to go all the way — easily the fastest I’ve ever made this climb.

I shot this using a brand new GoPro Hero 7 Black. This camera is incredible!
